The Stillwater Nutcracker, now celebrating its twenty-second year, is a family-friendly version, choreographed to the music of Tchaikovsky, and follows the traditional storyline of the young girl named Clara and her Christmas dream. Our version includes a live narration and the exuberant dancing of children from the age of five through professional level dancers who grace the show with beauty and spirit.
Each year we inaugurate the holidays with this beloved Christmas tradition on Thanksgiving weekend at the Stillwater Area High School. If you would like to join us, you would be most welcome.

Thank you to ALL!
Once again the people involved in the production of the Nutcracker provided a wonderful experience for everyone -- from the audience to those involved.
Many thanks for providing an opportunity for this grandma to take two granddaughters to see the Nutcracker without encountering the traffic of the cities at a very affordable price.
"Amazing." At the close of the curtain, my little 4 l/2 yr old granddaughter turned in her seat & said "grandma, that was amazing!" Even our usually very busy little almost 2 yr old sat mesmerized throughout the performance. Thank you all so very much for offering this wonderful ballet to people right here in Stillwater. We plan to make it an annual holiday event! C.P.
Out of nowhere today I started thinking " Hmm, I sure miss doing The Nutcracker" I used to take classes at your studio way way back in the day. I believe I started at age 7 in 1995. Even writing this to you right now is making me emotional when I think back to the amazingly happy memories that I have from doing The Nutcracker. As a 7 year old girl there is nothing better in the world than dancing along with sugar plum fairies and snow queens on stage. The magic that your production brought to me as a child involved is something that has stayed and will stay with me /forever/. I continued to dance there until I was about 15yrs old. I didn't leave by choice, rather, my family moved up north and Christmas time was never the same. You see, all I could remember about the Holidays was The Nutcracker. It wasn't a tradition, it was a way of life. I didn't have a typical ballerina body, and I definitely didn't have "ballerina feet" so I never danced any of the big parts..ie. snow, waltz, Spanish etc. etc but I never minded. Just being able to be involved in something so spectacular is something I have cherished ever since the first show I was in. I guess I just really want to express my thanks. My entire family, including my two brothers, still look back fondly and miss the Stillwater Nutcracker every single year. I am 21 now and out of college. I am an actress ( in fact I did a production last year with Suzie and she remembered me! I was an angel the year she was Clara) and when people ask me what made me fall in love with the stage I always always always reply " Doing the Stillwater Nutcracker as a child" Anyways, thank you thank you. For everything. From the bottom of my heart. I owe so many happy memories to you.
